Bigfoot’s Farm is a small family farm in Bloomingdale, Ohio — Jefferson County, about twenty minutes from Steubenville and an hour from Pittsburgh. We raise a small number of well-loved, thoroughly socialized animals. “Small number” is doing heavy lifting in that sentence; the goats multiply every time we blink.
An honest note about availability: it changes with every surprise birth announcement, and around here those happen at 11 p.m. on a Saturday. Fainting Goats (Myotonic Goats) — Ohio
Yes, fainting goats are real, and no, it never stops being funny — though we promise it doesn’t hurt them. Myotonic goats are gentle, easy to keep, hilarious to own, and make outstanding small-farm and family companions. Ours are handled daily by two people they have successfully unionized against.
Nigerian Dwarf Goats — Ohio
Small goats, enormous personalities. Nigerian Dwarfs are friendly, compact, great with families, and productive little milkers if you’re into that. I once publicly called them “nitrogen goats” and I refuse to fully retract it — spend one afternoon downwind and tell me I was wrong.
Rocky Mountain Horses — Ohio
Smooth-gaited, sure-footed, famously kind-natured — the horse for people who want to actually enjoy the ride. Ours come from registered bloodlines with paperwork requirements slightly stricter than a European monarchy, which I complain about constantly and comply with completely.
