GHOST-FREE HOUSE FOR SALE

GHOST-FREE HOUSE FOR SALE

GHOST-FREE HOUSE FOR SALE. But if that’s your thing, I’ll stick around and scare you for the first year after you buy it.

1045 8th Ave, Brackenridge, PA 15014

The house in question. Note the complete absence of visible ghosts.

The house in question. Note the complete absence of visible ghosts. Frank is camera-shy.

Asking $170,000, because apparently in 2026 that is what a decent house costs if it has walls, a roof, and no active crime scene.

I bought this place thinking it was going to be my forever home. Then work decided I should spend four hours a day driving to West Virginia, because nothing says “living the dream” quite like aging in your car while eating gas station beef jerky and listening to murder podcasts.

The house is great though.

• Detached 2-car garage with enough room to hide from your spouse, kids, family, or the creeping realization that this is your one wild and precious life

• Newly remodeled

• Great neighbors

• Quiet street

• Safe area

• Just enough little projects left to let your dad point at stuff and say “that’ll need fixed” without actually needing fixed

• Move-in ready without looking like Joanna Gaines held your family hostage with white paint and fake plants

And before one of you Facebook home inspector weirdos comes in with, “Yeah but it probably needs a roof,” let me save you the trouble.

The roof is fine.

But because every buyer suddenly turns into Sherlock Holmes with shingles, I’ll give you a $10,000 roof allowance anyway.

I’ll also knock off another $5,000 because:

• One squirrel around here has real serial killer energy

• The basement feels like exactly where somebody in 1978 hid their Playboys and emotional damage

• One of the rabbits in the front yard looked at me like he knew what I did

• The house is over 100 years old and somehow not haunted, which honestly makes me trust it less

• There is probably at least one ghost, but like, an old-timey Pittsburgh ghost. Nothing too aggressive. Maybe a steel worker named Frank who just wants to smoke in the garage and complain about taxes

The school district is apparently great. My stepson graduated this year and managed not to become a teenage dad, crypto influencer, or TikTok life coach, which frankly feels like a miracle in this economy.

This house has real character.

Not fake HGTV character where everything is gray and there is a wooden sign in the kitchen that says “Eat.”

This house has “drink three beers in the garage and stare at a lawnmower you have no intention of fixing” character.

This house has “watch a thunderstorm on the porch and wonder if any of this is real” character.

This house has “maybe I should get chickens” energy.

Anyway, comment, share, tell your weird cousin who is always talking about moving out of the city.

Also, serious question, should I paint the bathroom that depressing millennial gray everybody seems to love, or should I leave it looking like a normal human being once lived there?
